TestimonialsOur quality of service is continuously checked through the tourist reports we ask our clients to fill in after every trip. In these reports, all the aspects of our activity are evaluated on an ABCDE basis. This helps us to keep improving our service day by day. The following testimonials are all original extracts from our tourist reports. They have not been invented, neither are they the result of our imagination to give a misleading image of our service to our website visitors. All these reports are available at our office in Cusco. We have not facilitated the e-mail addresses of neither of our clients for obvious reasons. However, if you wish to contact any of the writers, please let us know and we will let you know their addresses once we get their authorization. Classic Inca Trail“ Dear Enigma, Geraldine and others in the office, Three friends of mine and I just returned to the US from a once in a lifetime experience hiking the Inca Trail with our guide, his assistant, 22 porters, and 10 other hikers. Given that once in a lifetime experiences are just that, I remain amazed and overwhelmed with how incredible this experience was for me. It will take me a while to find the vocabulary to express myself well enough to be understood. Possibly I will not be able to describe it well enough to be understood, but the experience will be with me forever. Our guide's many skills made all the difference in how our group came together. His technical skills were excellent. We always hiked together as a group, which helped us feel safe; his knowledge of everything we saw was incredible; and the fact that he explained EVERYTHING to all of us in his second language was humbling. Franklin's interpersonal skills were most impressive to me, given the many different personalities, questions, needs, levels of exhaustion, concerns, etc. I have never experienced anyone who held the level of gracious integrity and respect for others under such extreme circumstances and for such a long period of time. After the long hike, our guide still had to cope with the road strike and getting us all back to our hotels safely, with everyone, including him, I imagine, feeling exhausted and some being quite angry. In my experience, Franklin kept our group together on the trail as well as emotionally. And, even though you randomly put the 14 of us hikers together, I feel so fortunate to have been placed with these particular hikers, each of whom contributed a great deal to my having a lot of fun while physically doing THE most difficult thing I have EVER done in my life. Also, his assistant was a wonderful, supportive and caring guide. From the rear of the group, he paid very close attention to how each of us was doing, noticed if we left our walking stick, or anything else behind, carried packs when needed, helped Franklin tend to injuries, the porters serve the meals and had a ready smile. Our guide and assistant both seemed tireless and attentive to our needs, those of the porters, not to mention keeping us on track with the hike. The porters were also amazing. Seeing them at the end of the day's hike waving an Enigma flag and clapping for us is one memory, among so many, that will never be forgotten. Knowing that my life really depended on them, I was very humbled by their intensely strenuous work. THANK YOU ALL FOR MAKING THIS SUCH A GREAT ONCE IN A LIFETIME EVENT FOR ME ”
Carol Graybeal / USA Short Inca Trail“ We were a group from Langdale Holidays in the UK guided by Alberto and Julio. At Winay Wayna one of our group fell and had an epileptic fit. Alberto sent Julio on to the nearby cafe / campsite to get porters whilst he dealt very professionally with the casualty and the remainder of the group. At all times he was calm and reassuring. When the porters arrived Alberto went with them and the casualty while Julio led the rest of the group to continue the trek (the casualty was eventually OK and rejoined our activities us in Cusco.) All of the time Alberto was with us (the next day too), he impressed us with his professionalism (particularly his pacing of the walk to the ability of the participants) and his knowledge of the Incas and their trails, and of the flora and fauna. We have been on many guided events all over the world and he is amongst the best. I was a qualified UK Joint Services (Army, Navy, Air Force) Mountain Leader, so I know a good one when I see one! Julio, too, impressed. When he took over we thought that he would just take us on to Machu Picchu, but he stopped many times to tell us of the local flowers and birds, and not only did his knowledge appear good, but his enthusiasm for his environment was very evident. We shall recommend Enigma to our friends, and when we return to Peru we shall use you directly. Please pass on our congratulations and best wishes to Alberto and Julio. Thanks!. ”
Geoff & Sarah Buck/ United Kingdom Luxury Treks“ It is nearly impossible to choose one aspect to highlight. The entire trip was a flawless experience. A perfect combination of comfort, knowledge and caring. The deep respect for the country, the mountains, the Peruvian people, was converged in everything we experienced. This was a magnificent experience that would not have been possible without Alberto, Luciano, Fabrizio and Sule, these guides not only took care of us, but displayed an obvious respect and care for the cooks, the porters and the masseurs. I will keep Peru and the mountains in my heart. ”
Ms. Jane Lacher / USA Customized itineraries"Dearest Silvia - Our South American adventure - a trip of a lifetime - is sadly coming to an end. We will never think of this trip without fondly remembering you and how you made this all possible. I will be forever grateful that you answered my original e-mail back in 2006. Your patience with all my many lengthy follow-up e-mails was always appreciated and I always noted your quick responses and detailed answers to my questions. As I said in a 2006 e-mail, I was ready to ask who your supervisor was so I could let them know what a great employee you were. When I found you owned the company, I was more impressed to find a 'hands on' employer, working harder than the staff. We cannot thank you enough. The high standards and quality of your business are amazing. In closing, Terry + I saved our money for years to be able to stay at the 'top-of-the-line' hotels in each town, as well as to take the 'private' trek and we know, without a doubt, we were also blessed to have the 'top-of-the-line' travel agency in all of Peru!! Love, Wanda + Terry” Wanda Snatchko and Terry Howarth Other Treks & Programs“ The service was great, our guide extremely passionate and knowledgeable about quechua culture. The chef prepared three amazing local meals a day! And the porters were also fantastic! Making our travels and camping so easy. Our tour to Machupicchu was incredible and our guide in my opinion gave us the best tour of all. AN UNFORGETABLE EXPERIENCE. ”
